This beef stew is light yet very satisfying. It doesn’t have a thick sauce like regular stew would, but the seasoning is great! What a difference it made having this out in the field instead of a traditional MRE!

I really enjoyed the mushrooms, carrots, and celery in this. Those specific ingredients are a great mirepoix for any meal. I add some fat to the mix to up the calorie count (typically rendered bacon grease).

Given the fact that this has like 8 ingredients I thought it was amazing. Very tasty (especially with in included sea salt). This one will definitely be with me on my next camping trip.

I absolutely love the beef stew! I had to use cold water and it totally hydrated well with no chunks or clumps. The beef was tender and the seasoning was just right. I love the minimal ingredients and the high amount of protein. I gobbled it up!

You definitely don’t need to be adhering to a Paleo diet to enjoy this camping dinner. It’s made with fresh ingredients,no preservatives or chemical ingredients so it felt as close as you can get to eating a freshly made beef stew when out in the backcountry.

Due to the ingredients being freeze dried they retain their original colour, texture and taste which makes for an extremely satisfying meal. Can’t say that we have ever tried a backcountry meal in a bag that we could actually taste the meaty flavour of the beef or feel the distinct texture of eating a piece of meat.

We really appreciated the addition of a packet of sea salt to allow the individual to season to their own personal taste preference.

This is definitely a meal that we look forward to taking with us into the backcountry again and again!

As an endurance athlete I keep my nutrition on point, which can be hard to do when looking for a freeze dried meal for backpacking trips. That’s when I stumbled upon paleo meals to go, their quality ingredients fell right inline with my Paleo eating, after giving them a try I was surprised at how great they tasted and a light weight package was an added bonus!
My go to meal for all my backcountry trips!

Could not believe how tender the beef was and loved all the veggies! I added a little hot sauce for an extra kick, and it made a very filling supper. As a busy mom, I am thankful for a low sugar meal I can grab on the go that meets my nutritional standards!

Wholesome, hearty and delicious. The small bites of beef were tender and juicy, even though re-hydrated! Definitely a far cry from the backpacking meals we’re used to, and a real treat to end a day of hiking. So nice to be able to stay “on track” eating healthy food while camping!

Super good just like all the other reviews. I’ve had it with hot water and also ambient temperature water and it was still good. I also added some hot sauce one time and it gave it a little kick. I order a few before each deployment.

My husband and I take these with us on all of our adventures. We really appreciate having a healthy meal at the end of the day. We add olive oil for added calories and fat which makes the meal so satisfying. More meals that are AIP and sugar free would be great!

I’m thrilled to find a backcountry meal loaded with protein that tastes good and is made with real ingredients. No weird science experiments in these dinners.
I rehydrate my meals with cold water and have been more than pleased with the results of the PaleoMealsToGo dinners. Even the meat comes out well, not weird or crunchy like other brands.
I enjoy the flavor profile of the Mountain Beef Stew and am impressed by the freshness of it.

I finally got around to test the Mountain Beef Stew under wilderness conditions last week in the High Sierra’s. I was camped at Mesa Lake in upper Humphrey’s Basin.

I used a little bit more boiling water than called for at 14 oz. Since I was at a elevation of around 11.200′ I allowed 17 minutes of rehydration time with the meal pouch inside my Big Sky cozy.

Usually on the first day when I’ve been hiking for hours at high elevations my appetite is not as urgent. So I kind of have to force myself to eat. I believe the Mountain Stew rehydrated perfectly for me, So when I started chowing down, my appetite really kicked into gear. The beef was very plentiful and satisfying with the normal texture of well done beef. The single serving size is large and made me look at the package to check and see if it was a double serving like a lot of other backpacking food companies fudge on their meal packages.

I very much like the way the onion, celery and carrots were cut small to add to the consistency of rehydration. All of the vegetables were flavorful and fresh tasting. I didn’t have to use the extra salt, I thought the savory flavor of gravy was very satisfying with the right amount seasoning and salt. I had a little soup gravy left over at the end and that was a bonus.
Ive been looking around a while for healthy, good tasting backpacking food dinners that I can trust.

Thank you for a great option!

You wouldn’t expect beef stew, freeze dried or freshly simmered, to taste this fresh and clean—yet it does! Really amazing meal, with outstanding flavors and a freshness that makes my stomach as happy as my mouth. Another home run by Paleo Meals To Go!

This beef stew is amazing. Don’t tell my Grandma… but its better than anything I’ve ever had at her house.
I am an avid outdoorsman with a few health concerns that restricts my diet. Having healthy and delicious meals for an extended period of time is incredibly important. I survived for 3 weeks in the Alaskan wilderness on a variety of the PMTG entrées, breakfast, and snacks.

A very filling meal and generous portion size! The heat-safe packaging is great with the ease of putting boiling water in (yay no dishes!). The meal itself is very light weight pre-cooked. I liked that adding salt was an option. I didn’t add salt- but perhaps that’s why I thought the stew could use more seasionings. Overall enjoyed.

The beef was excellent but it lacked some spice to it
Instructions were very clear and the zip seal makes it easy to use

All, writing a note to say I’ve almost exclusively converted to Paleo Meals to Go to supply my outdoor adventuring (backpacking, kayaking, canoeing) and here recently out on a solo winter camping/snowshoeing trip. “Almost exclusively” means I might take a few home brewed meals from time to time but will not use other commercially available backpacker style meals. Paleo Meals to Go fulfills my need for gluten free meals and I flat out just feel better than I ever have with other brands. Who needs an upset GI 20-miles into the back country? I also like how the calories are dispersed across the meals when outfitted with both breakfast and dinner entrees. Higher calories (~600) in the morning before a full day on the trail and lower calorie (~350) protein packed dinners for replenishment. Makes sense. My favorites dinners are the Mountain Beef Stew and Bedrock Beef Chili, I failed miserably trying to dehydrate my own chili so getting beef on the trail is a real luxury for me.
