Hello! So excited to find your site. We’re trinyg right now and I am reading so much on conventional health sites that warn against seafood, leftovers, beef jerky, salad bars, homemade mayo, over easy eggs, smoked fish and meat, unpasteurized milk or dairy, and reindeer or other game. What have you found in your research? It seems like much of this advice is against the Paleo lifestyle. I am new to this philosophy and I’m trinyg to reconcile what I’ve always heard about nutrition during pregnancy and the fantastic results I’ve SEEN in women living Paleo. My goal is to come out of pregnancy fitter than I was when I went in by moderate exercise, yoga, and healthful living. I would LOVE any tips you have and of course I will be scouring the rest of the blog. THANK YOU!!Eva

I was amazed at just how green and fresh the veggies were in this meal after preparing it! The seasoning is wonderful whether you add salt or not, just make sure you mix it up really well after preparing, since all the season-y goodness settles in the bottom when it is dry. So far this is my favorite meal that Paleo Meals to Go makes!

This is my favorite paleo meal. Sometimes it’s so filling I have to share. I add some fat to the mix to up the calorie count (typically rendered bacon grease).

This one was my third favorite out of all of them. It was suuuuper filling and took me forever to eat! There is no skimping on the chicken here! The veggies were green and delicious. My only complaint would be the lack of seasonings. I had to add 3 salt packets (don’t judge me!) and I still wished I had mayo or butter to make it a little tastier and fatty. Awesome amounts of protein though!

It was very filling and healthy tasting, but found it to be very bland and exactly what I imagine when I think of plain freeze dried chicken breast. Definitely needs additional seasoning and a fat source like previous review mentioned. Enjoyed the beef stew much more than this.

I have not yet tried this meal or any from PMTG but as someone who strictly follows the Ketogenic (low to no carbohydrates in my diet) lifestyle AND the paleo/primal lifestyle at the same time, finding suitable freeze dried meals is impossible. I’m happy to find this and other relatively low carbohydrate, primal friendly meals that I can take as-is and actually enjoy. Based off of this alone, five stars from me! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN FOR US PRIMAL FOLK OUT HERE!

Thanks Steve! We’re all about making the impossible possible – appreciate the kind words. We hope you’ll give our meals a go on your next adventure in the backcountry or your backyard!

I was reluctant that a freeze dried meal could be good, and that theory was proven true when I tried another popular name brand… boring, bland and most certainly not paleo. Then I tried this Savory Chicken and could not believe the difference. Wow. I wanted more! I did what others suggested, adding some olive oil, but mostly to boost the calories and fat, not to improve the flavor. I did also add some salt and pepper as it needed a kick, but I’m sure if they added more spices, then people would leave reviews saying it was too spicy! It’s so much easier to add a little spice than take it away.

Don’t hesitate if you’re paleo… just get some of this. I’m going out again this weekend and hoping I enjoy the beef chili as much as this.

I found your meals when searching for a paleo friendly alternative to the current freeze dried meals. I tried them out on a week long wilderness backpacking trip and was surprised at how great they tasted, they taste just like it was freshly made! An added bonus was the size a weight, when in backpacking ounces add up to pounds! I was also able to lighten my pack over previous meals I used!

    • PaleoMeals

So awesome, Ryan! Packing light and eating hearty for all your outdoor adventures without compromising nutrition is what we’re all about. Thanks for giving our meals a try. Where’d you go for the trip? We’d love to see photos if you have ’em or post with #PaleoMealsToGo on social media.

Delicious and filling! I was shocked at how fresh everything tasted. Great to have on hand for those days you just don’t feel like cooking or have stashed at your work desk…not just for backpacking!

As other reviewers have noted, I found this meal a little bland, even with the 2 added salt packets. I loved the huge amount of protein and the green freshness of the veggies. Definitely nourishing and filling!

Two of my favorite foods (chicken and broccoli) in a perfect blend of flavor and seasoning. After adding hot water I always find it a struggle to not immediately begin eating the boiling hot, half-reconstituted food, it’s that good!

This was easily the best backpacking dinner I’ve had. After a long (cold) hike into the Utah backcountry in December, this meal was filling and delicious. I don’t often feel like I’ve had something GREEN on the trail, and this met that requirement and also had plenty of protein.

Was thrilled to find emergency/camping foods that meet our dietary needs, but the taste was not good. Kind of like cardboard. We couldn’t finish our portions. Hope other flavors will be better….

I loved this. I feel like any backpacking meal I get lacks any real nutrition. Most are loaded with simple carbs and sodium. It is so refreshing to have vegetables in my diet and chicken that actually tastes like chicken.

I am an avid outdoorsman with a few health concerns that restricts my diet. Having healthy and delicious meals for an extended period of time is incredibly important. I survived for 3 weeks in the Alaskan wilderness on a variety of the PMTG entrées, breakfast, and snacks. I felt great the whole time.

This is an amazingly fresh meal! The chicken and veggies stay intact and taste surprisingly fresh for a freeze dried meal. The 2 salt packets definitely help with the flavor. I used Paleo Meals To Go for a 10 day backpacking trip in Florida and I will definitely be using them again for my Appalachian Trail hike. Thanks Paleo!!

Loved the chicken flavor! It was so filling after a long day. You can eat it right out of the portable and durable bags. I did add salt to it, but I do add salt to everything. I will be ordering this again. Highly recommended!!
